Q: My PDF still looks sideways in another program. Why?

How to rotate PDF pages

Add your PDF

Turn the pages

Click a page to turn it a quarter turn clockwise; click again to keep going. Rotate all turns the whole document at once, which is the usual fix for a batch scanned sideways.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Your PDF is read with your browser’s own file API and rotated on your machine — nothing is sent to CraftMyPDF or to any other server, so confidential documents stay on your computer.

What happens to pages I do not touch?

They keep the orientation they already had. Each turn is applied on top of the page’s existing rotation rather than replacing it, so a document where only some pages are sideways can be fixed without disturbing the rest.

Can I rotate anticlockwise?

Not directly — clicking cycles clockwise through 90°, 180° and 270° before returning to the original. Three clicks is the same as one anticlockwise turn.

Does rotating re-encode the pages?

No. Nothing is rasterised or recompressed — the page content is untouched and only its rotation flag changes, so text stays selectable and image quality is exactly what it was.

Can I check a page’s orientation before I rotate it?

Yes. The PDF Page Inspector lists every page’s size, orientation and box coordinates, which is the quickest way to see what a viewer is actually being told to do.
